What a business website in Algeria needs in 2026

In Algeria, many customers find a business through Google Maps, Facebook or a WhatsApp message from a friend before they ever see its website. The website still matters. It is where they check that you are serious, and where they decide to call. Here is what it needs to do that well in 2026.

Built for the phone first

Most visitors will open your site on a phone, often on a mobile connection that is not always fast. Design for that screen first and keep pages light: compressed images, few heavy scripts, no autoplay video on the home page. A page that takes too long to appear is closed before the visitor reads your name.

Test it on a mid-range Android phone over 4G, not only on a fast office connection. What feels instant on fibre can feel slow everywhere else.

A clear next step, on WhatsApp or by form

Every page should answer one question: what should the visitor do now? Call, send a WhatsApp message, request a quote, book a visit. Put that action at the top of the page and repeat it at the end. If a visitor has to search for your phone number, the site has failed at its main job.

Many customers prefer to write on WhatsApp rather than fill in a form. Others, especially companies, prefer a form or an email. Offer both. A WhatsApp button that opens a chat with a pre-filled message saves the visitor time and tells you which page they came from. A short form, with only the fields you need, catches the requests that arrive at night or from people who want a written answer.

Then decide who answers, and how fast. A well-known Harvard Business Review study from 2011 found that companies replying to an online enquiry within an hour were about seven times more likely to qualify it than those that waited longer. Speed of reply is a habit, not a feature, but the website can make it easier.

Your Google Business Profile

For a local business, the Google Business Profile is often the first thing people see, on Maps and in search results for your name or your trade. Claim it, check the address and the pin on the map, and add opening hours, real photos, your phone and WhatsApp number, and a link to your website. Ask satisfied clients for a review, and answer reviews, good and bad, politely.

Local SEO for Algiers, Oran and Constantine

People search with a place in mind: a dentist in Oran, an estate agency in Algiers, an accounting firm in Constantine. Write in the language your customers search in, which is often French or Arabic. The basics:

  • A real page for each city or branch, with its address, map, team and opening hours, not the same text with the city name swapped.
  • Page titles and descriptions that name the service and the city.
  • The same business name, address and phone number on the site, the Google profile and your social pages.
  • Reviews on your Google profile, answered.
  • A fast, mobile-friendly site that search engines can read easily.

.dz or .com?

Both work. A .dz domain, or .com.dz, is managed in Algeria by CERIST and shows clearly that you are an Algerian business. Registration asks for documents about the company and can take longer than a .com. A .com is quick to register, familiar everywhere and practical if you also serve clients abroad. Many businesses register both and point one to the other. Whatever you choose, register it in the company's name.

Hosting, invoices and owning your accounts

Choose hosting for speed, security and backups, with a clear answer to who fixes things when the site goes down. Check that the site loads quickly for visitors in Algeria, renews its security certificate automatically, and is backed up somewhere you can restore from.

Then check the paperwork. Ask to be invoiced in dinars if that is how your company pays, with numbered receipts. Make sure the domain, hosting, Google profile and analytics accounts are in your company's name, with access you control. Too many businesses discover, years later, that the person who built the site holds every password.

Your domain, your hosting and your Google profile should be in your company's name, with access you control.

Where we come in

We design and build business websites for Algerian companies, from a Launch Essential site live in about three weeks to a complete brand and website in four to eight weeks. The quote is fixed, each stage includes two revision rounds, and you follow everything in a private client space. Algerian clients are invoiced in dinars with numbered receipts, and on full payment the code and every account are yours. After launch, a Care plan covers hosting, backups, updates and support. We do not promise rankings. We set up the measurement and track enquiries, calls and rankings with you.
